The Greenhouse Deck

A client came to us with a unique idea: to transform their existing deck into a three-season greenhouse where they could showcase and care for their plants year-round. They wanted a space that felt rustic, practical, and completely tailored to their needs. We installed red mahogany wood floors, framed new walls, and finished both the exterior and interior with T1-11 for a warm, natural look. Custom window panes and permanent screens allow the space to shift easily between cooler months and spring/summer use, while a pitched roof with corrugated plastic panels brings in natural light. A full gutter system directs rainwater away, and lattice skirting with riverstone along the perimeter finishes the base with a clean, grounded look. Inside, we built U-shaped planter boxes with an integrated drainage and timed irrigation system. LED lighting with remote control, a ceiling fan, and a heater make the greenhouse comfortable and functional across the seasons. To keep everything organized, we even built a custom storage box for the removable window panes. The result is a one-of-a-kind greenhouse that blends rustic charm with modern convenience — a space designed for growing, displaying, and enjoying plants all year long.
